Kristján Jón Guðnason was born in Reykjavík Iceland 6/3 1943. He got his education in the College of Arts and Crafts in Reykjavík 1961 - 1964 and in the College of Arts and Crafts in Oslo Norway 1965 - 1967. He has exibited in the Nordic Youth Biennal in 1970, "Nordisk Akvarell" nordic watercolour show in stockholm 1998 when the city was the cultural city of Europe, Helsinki 2001 and Agora Gallery in New York 2000. He has also exhibited in various group shows in Europe and the cultural institute Gerduberg in Reykjavík 2012. The watercolours are influenced by the basalt columns work of Richard Serra, "Afangar" in Videy island, located north of Reykjavík, but basalt columns are common in Iceland. Last but not least the coming of spring with its flowers and plants. we Icelanders look forward to spring because the winter is long and dark.
