Jean-Pierre Zinjé starts off painting with lots of light. Along with the light come colors. To those colors forms are added, in the distance and preferably only suggested. The result is retained breath and penetrating looks, without support for the eyes. Suddenly the sea appears with the waves, the odd bit of splashing foam. The sea with in its pouch : sky and light and seagulls and unreachable distance. The sea that hasn't decided yet whether it will burst or become beach.
