I am a professional computer based educator with a Master's degree in
computer based education from the University of Akron. I constructed
this website because I wanted to explore the possibilities of computer
based education using the internet. I threw out about fifty pages
losely related to three topics of my interest: computers, environment,
and art. One of the pages dealt with an interpretation of the politics
of Amazons using their representation in art. After about one and a
half years a student wrote to inquire if I could help with other women
in ancient Greece. I said I could but my communication was interrupted.
I had to set up a sytem whereby the students could communicate with me
in a way other than email. The system I set up allowed students to ask
questions and I published the answers on the page of interest. The
communication in this area continues to escalate to up to 20,000 hits
a day on one of 80 pages on the role of women in the art of ancient
Greece. The other 49 topics never received any significant number of
hits. This data was presented in a paper to the Ohio Academy of
Science 2001. In 2002 a paper was presented documenting the diversity
of users in the world.

I have been
greatly influenced by the painting of the Far East where black was
used as a meditative color. Their custom has been to include a
poem with an image to stimulate a more emotional response. In like
manner I have tended to poetic subjects. What follows is a poem I
wrote that approaches an artist's statement for me.
Selected solo exhibitionsI have participated in many media
including watercolor, oils, woodcarving, construction primarily
with wood, and different drawing media, including the computer. At
the moment I am concentrating drawing and painting with watercolor.
