This initial sequence of diary entries have been taken (and
edited) from my own personal diary. They are a 'run-up' to the entries I
will write specifically for this three month blog. I will include mainly
references to my own creative process (however trivial, I'm afraid), and
link these to appropriate pages on this site. At one point when putting
together all the visual material for the archive section of the site (which
documents all my past work), I could not resist making spurious/subjective
written links within the architecture of html. They were anecdotal in
flavour (and marked thus: a:). It was refreshing to be able to comment on
things connected to my work in this personal manner, (in the style of a
diary), rather than adhering to the sometimes overly dry art text that is
expected to accompany art work. This act of constructing 'a web within a
web' appealed to me conceptually as a way of utilising the qualities
inherent in linkable documents.
Around the time of making these entries I contracted a very
strong virus that left me energy-less and mildly delerious for seven weeks;
I would not usually make reference to my health at all, but it informed my
inner dialogue and my creativite process at the time of writing, (albeit
edited for consumption), and so has been included; thus reflecting the
diarist nature of the text.
The names of people I know will be changed. The blog will
comprise text, images and links.
