"Realism, beauty, drama, detail, character and personality are the hallmarks of my artwork.  Silnce the age of four I have always enjoyed drawing people:  the famous in all areas such as sports, music, religion, history and show business.  My commissions have included American presidents, war heroes, film stars, sports, religious and jazz icons for many of  America's leading advertising agencies, publishers, corporations and public realations firms.   In addition to the many book covers, ads, prints and portraits I create, I also do non-commercial portrait commissions of families, children, pets and glamourous boudoir portraits.  My website, www.dickbobnick.com, contains all my contact information, my awards and current projects..  I look forward to all inquiries regarding subjects, timing and pricing. My experience is varied and vast:  lead illustrator at five top Minneapolis graphic arts studios before a successful free lance career which I still enjoy. My approach to illustration is very traditional:  careful research of my subjects comes first followed by a detailed pencil rough or layout submitted for client approval.  Next, comes client discussion with regard to additions or changes and finally creation of the final painting.  Every commission offers a new challenge and that is what keeps this an exciting and fulfilling career.
