Moncy Barbour was born in Lynchburg Virginia October 4th, 1952. He began painting at the age of fourteen. He works in a variety of mediums and supports. Moncy studied commercial art in Lynchburg at C.V.C.C. and chose to paint freelance out of his own home studio. He has been on many online galleries since the early 1990's. Moncy has painted for celebrities such as Cheryl Crow and Mamie Van Doren. He went through a phase studying Pop art for about fourteen years and at one time was exhibited online with Andy Warhol. He recently has been going through a metamorphosis to reach his own unique hand and style influenced by Pollock and Peter Max whom he has been online with as well. He states that he wants to reach and break new boundaries. Moncy enjoys browsing through local galleries as well as the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. and The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Moncy is also the author of the book "Midnight Sand", a book of poetry also available for purchase online or at your local Barnes and Novel book store.
